Frequently Asked Questions

IT Support FAQs

Questions we are asked regarding our IT support services.

What’s included in a managed service plan?

A managed service plan covers the ongoing support, monitoring, maintenance and security of your existing IT—but not every future change. Understanding what’s in scope (and what isn’t) upfront helps avoid surprises and keeps your monthly costs fair. Read the full article here to gain a better understanding of this process.

Do you manage new starters and leavers in my business?

Of course! We handle the complete onboarding and offboarding process which includes setting up new accounts and devices for starters and securely shutting things down for leavers. Everything done quickly, securely and consistently. Read the full article here to gain a better understanding of this process.

How do you keep our systems secure?

We proactively manage updates, firewalls and endpoint security to reduce risks and prevent avoidable breaches. Critical updates are installed promptly, typically within days of release. The threat landscape is changing constantly, so security is an ongoing process we continuously manage. Read our full blog article for a better overview of how we protect your systems.

Are managed IT services right for my business?

If you want a reliable, well structured and scalable IT setup with predictable costs and you don’t want to manage it yourself, then yes, a managed IT support arrangement could be right for you. Read the full article here to get a better idea of what may be right for you here.

Do you charge onboarding separately?

Yes, It’s the one-off work needed to get your IT ready for support and the work involved differs from one customer to another. We wrote a blog article re this which explains why there are fees for this service. You can read the full article here.

Are there any hidden or additional costs outside your monthly IT support plans?

There are no hidden costs — but there can be additional charges for work that falls outside the normal scope of a monthly service plan. In our blog article here, we explain in more detail what’s included, what isn’t, and why transparency around out of scope work is essential to avoiding surprises and maintaining a healthy working relationship.

Do I Really Need MFA?

The quick answer is yes, if you're running a business today, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) isn't optional anymore, it's one of the simplest, cheapest ways to stop the vast majority of cyber-attacks before they start. We wrote an article on MFA to dig into this a little deeper.

What are your standard response times (SLAs) when an issue arises?

We prioritize issues by severity. Critical system outages receive an immediate emergency response, with an engineer working on the problem within 15 minutes. Standard day-to-day user tickets are typically responded to and triaged in under an hour, ensuring your team experiences minimal disruption.

Do you provide physical onsite support, or is everything done remotely?

While over 90% of day-to-day software glitches can be securely resolved by our remote helpdesk, we absolutely provide hands-on onsite engineering support. Based locally, we regularly visit client sites across Melksham, Swindon, Chippenham, and the wider Wiltshire area for hardware deployments, network overhauls, or critical on-premises troubleshooting.

Can you support businesses that use Apple Mac devices as well as Windows PCs?

Yes. Modern business environments are frequently hybrid. We fully support, manage, and secure both Windows and macOS ecosystems. We use advanced centralized management tools to deploy security updates, manage permissions, and troubleshoot bugs seamlessly across all PC and Mac endpoints.

We already have an internal IT manager. Can you work alongside them?

Absolutely. This is known as Co-Managed IT. We act as an extension of your internal team—handling the repetitive, heavy-lifting tasks like 24/7 monitoring, patch management, helpdesk overflow, and cyber security protocols. This frees up your internal IT manager to focus entirely on your company's core strategic projects.
